SNAPSHOTS
The I-phone has definitely opened up photography for me. I take many shots and try to be disciplined about editing them. I also play with them digitally and often use them in my work. If you are an artist or creative and feeling guilty about neglecting your practise when you are travelling, you could just accept that recording your visit in photography will be enough! You will be building a library of references for using in your work when you get home. And when you are not away, an easy win to continue building that library is to try and take at least one photo a day. I started this taking a photo a day (until it turned into a chore rather than a pleasure) to try and represent what I was doing that day. You'll be able to work out when I was travelling, when I was working and possibly when I was singing!
SOLO TRAVELLER PHOTOGRAPHY TIP: I have had some great conversations with other solo travellers by offering to take a photo for them - most people reciprocate. You can only have so many selfies, so its a nice way of making a little connection. Best not to pass your phone over to a stranger unless there are plenty of others around though - for obvious reasons...
