PEAK DISTRICT UK

Even a day trip not too far from home is a form of travel that can be inspirational. So if that is what your budget allows go with that.  As mentioned before, if you are contemplating travelling abroad solo for the first time, you might want to take a trip closer to home first.  This was mine, as the Peak District is not that far from where I live.  Even in the summer months you can often hike for miles and see only a few other walkers or bikers and the scenery is breath-taking.

Other aspects of the local heritage, such as its industrial past, are well worth exploring whilst seeking inspiration.

Whilst staying there I used my photos to make a series of new A3 collages.

I also drove up for a return visit to the Hepworth Wakefield, which I highly recommend.  The friendliest staff, excellent curation, and a great café. In fact the architecture of the building and the beautiful garden alone would be worth the visit.
